About the role

Patch Management product team at Qualys builds and maintains a comprehensive Windows patch catalog for third‑party software. The engineer researches, authors, and validates patch metadata, silent installation parameters, and detection logic across diverse installer types. Works from Pune office, on‑site, collaborating with engineering and security teams to ensure accurate catalog updates and EOL tracking.

What you’ll do

• Research and author patch metadata for third‑party Windows applications
• Identify new releases, security updates, and map vendor data to structured schemas
• Document silent installation parameters and reboot behavior for various installers
• Validate detection logic via registry keys and file version paths
• Test patch installations in sandbox environments and verify detection outcomes

What you’ll bring

• 4-5 years Windows systems administration
• Experience with patch management tools (WSUS, SCCM, Qualys)
• Hands‑on MSI/EXE silent install packaging
• Deep knowledge of Windows registry and file version detection
• Scripting in PowerShell or Python
