Indirect Category Supplier Manager

About the role

Indirect Category Supplier Manager leads strategic sourcing and supplier relationship initiatives for Micron's memory and storage categories. The role drives cost reduction, supply base optimization, and contract negotiations, ensuring suppliers align with Micron's strategic direction. Responsibilities include qualifying suppliers, resolving performance issues, ensuring compliance with code-of-conduct and CSR, and communicating updates to executive leadership. The manager segments suppliers, provides market intelligence, applies should-cost models, and leads contract negotiations and bundled RFQ processes. They develop contract strategies, monitor supplier performance metrics, and conduct quarterly business reviews, annual evaluations, and executive meetings to sustain continuous improvement.

What you’ll do

• Serve as primary contact for assigned suppliers
• Qualify suppliers commercially to support strategic development
• Resolve supplier performance issues to align with Micron strategy
• Ensure supplier compliance with code-of-conduct and CSR initiatives
• Communicate supplier updates to executive leadership
• Engage senior management to reinforce supplier commitment
• Represent supply base to Micron and vice versa
• Segment suppliers and set strategic goals
• Provide market intelligence and price trend analysis
• Apply should-cost models for category benchmarking
• Lead contract negotiations, extensions, renewals, and price renegotiations
• Coordinate RFQ and bundled negotiations with Category Sourcing Manager
• Develop and enforce contract strategies and terms
• Build supplier performance metrics and monitor continuous improvement
• Lead quarterly business reviews, annual evaluations, and executive meetings
