About the role

Platform Engineering team at Lloyds Banking Group builds and modernises the insurance and protection services platform. The Lead Software Engineer designs end‑to‑end solution architectures, collaborates with product owners, solution architects and enterprise architects, and mentors junior engineers while driving technical delivery. Hybrid work from Hyderabad, India, with flexible working options.

What you’ll do

• Create architectural runway and solution designs for platform teams
• Partner with enterprise architecture to evaluate technology assumptions and risks
• Lead technical design reviews and drive adaptive design practices
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and translate requirements into scalable solutions
• Provide technical feedback for financial investment decisions
• Mentor and coach engineers on architecture and best practices
• Ensure quality, decoupled and modernised architectures across platforms
• Collaborate with security, data and infrastructure architects to deliver customer value

What you’ll bring

• 12+ years software design and development
• 6+ years microservices and micro‑frontend architecture
• Strong Java, Spring Boot, ReactJS expertise
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines
• Hands‑on GCP/Azure/AWS cloud deployment
• Proficient with REST APIs, Kafka, JMS
• Leadership and mentoring experience
• Knowledge of TOGAF or similar architectural frameworks
