About the role

Northern Trust seeks a Team Leader to oversee KYC Operations within the First Line of Defence at its Pune, India office. This role manages day-to-day Customer Due Diligence activities, ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence while leading a team of professionals. The position is full-time and based on-site in Pune.

What you’ll do

Lead day-to-day KYC operations including CDD and EDD execution
Manage team recruitment, development, and performance expectations
Ensure alignment with AML/KYC policies and regulatory requirements
Oversee capacity planning and prioritization to meet SLAs
Act as escalation point for complex cases and delivery risks
Embed first-line controls and manage operational AML/KYC risks
Drive root cause analysis and implement process improvements
Partner with Governance, QA, and Training teams for alignment

What you’ll bring

5+ years experience in AML/KYC regulations and operational processes
Proven people management and performance coaching experience
Strong knowledge of customer due diligence (CDD/EDD)
Experience managing workflow, capacity planning, and SLAs
College degree or equivalent professional experience
