Senior Developer - Java with Azure

About the role

Senior Software Developers at Thoughtworks collaborate with Business and Quality Analysts, Designers, Project Managers, and others to design software solutions that create meaningful change for clients. Day-to-day, you write clean, iterative code, build large-scale distributed microservices, apply DevSecOps practices, and mentor junior consultants while advocating for better engineering practices. Based in Bangalore, you may be expected to work out of the Thoughtworks office or a client's office for all five working days of the week.

What you’ll do

• Learn and adopt best practices like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, pair programming and design patterns
• Use and advocate for continuous delivery practices to deliver high-quality software and value to end customers early
• Work in collaborative, value-driven teams to build innovative customer experiences for clients
• Create large-scale distributed systems out of microservices
• Collaborate with teammates to build features, design concepts and interactive prototypes while embedding best practices and UX specifications
• Apply the latest technology thinking from the Technology Radar to solve client problems
• Efficiently utilize DevSecOps tools and practices to build and deploy software, advocating devops culture and shifting security left
• Oversee or take part in the entire cycle of software consulting and delivery from ideation to deployment

What you’ll bring

• Five or more years of experience in Java Development
• Experience using Java version 8 or above with Object-Oriented programming
• Well versed with springboot and Azure
• Comfortable with Agile methodologies such as Extreme Programming (XP), Scrum and/or Kanban
• Good awareness of TDD, continuous integration and continuous delivery approaches/tools
• Computer science graduate
• Ability to skillfully write high-quality, well-tested code
• Comfortable with Object-Oriented programming
