About the role

The Associate Strategic Sourcing role sits within Deutsche Bank’s Global Procurement function, which oversees all third-party spend through end-to-end strategic sourcing and Source-to-Pay operations. Based in Mumbai, India, the position supports the rapidly growing procurement coverage across India and APAC by managing complex sourcing projects across multiple categories. Day-to-day work includes leading supplier selection and negotiations, conducting market analysis and tenders, executing local cost-saving strategies, and collaborating with global procurement, service delivery, contract, and supplier relationship teams.

What you’ll do

  • Support negotiations while managing matrixed internal stakeholders
  • Manage sourcing deals, driving supplier selection and the negotiation process for products across all categories, including IT and non-IT
  • Carry out market analysis and tenders to select suppliers for products, services, and strategic projects
  • Identify specific sourcing projects throughout the year, including expected savings and associated completion timescales
  • Execute local strategies to extract supply-side savings and manage demand-side consumption to lower the Bank’s Total Cost of Ownership for external spend
  • Highlight operational, regulatory, and other risks to the Category lead and Country Head, take ownership of sourcing issues, and actively participate in their resolution
  • Collaborate with the wider Global Procurement team, including Service Delivery Management, Contract managers, and supplier relationship teams, to review strategic partner and local vendor performance

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant procurement experience, including managing complex sourcing projects across multiple categories
  • Experience in complex commercial and contractual negotiations
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work in virtual, global teams within a dual reporting matrix organization
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (written and verbal)
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity and optimize workflows while applying critical judgment for responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs
