About the role
RDU IT Data Engineering at AstraZeneca Rare Disease leads the design of patient‑centric data and AI platforms. The role builds scalable cloud‑native ELT pipelines on AWS and Snowflake, embeds AI copilots for code generation, and ensures data governance, observability, and compliance. Bangalore office, hybrid (minimum three days onsite).
What you’ll do
- Design and build cloud‑native ELT/ETL pipelines on AWS and Snowflake
- Implement AI‑accelerated development tools and automated documentation
- Develop data quality frameworks with AI‑enabled anomaly detection
- Operationalize data governance, privacy controls, and FAIR principles
- Optimize performance and cost using AI‑driven recommendations
- Collaborate with data science teams on feature‑ready datasets
- Mentor engineers on responsible AI and prompt engineering
- Lead observability, metrics, and self‑healing runbooks
What you’ll bring
- 10+ years data engineering experience
- Master's degree in CS or related field
- Expertise in SQL and Python
- Hands‑on with AWS services
- Snowflake architecture and performance tuning
- Apache Airflow or AWS Glue orchestration
- AI copilots for code and test generation
- Data governance and compliance (GDPR/HIPAA)
