Application Engineer II

About the role

The Estimated Cashflow Preparation team within the Subledger Input Preparation Product Area builds next-generation finance data services. This role designs and implements scalable backend applications using Python, PySpark, and Azure Databricks to support accounting processes. The position is based in Hyderabad with a Hybrid work model.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and automate backend applications combining data from multiple domains
• Implement business functionality for accounting processes and reporting needs
• Oversee end-to-end application architecture and design decisions
• Drive the creation of financial data services by integrating various input sources
• Ensure high levels of test automation and code quality through peer reviews
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and advise on solutions
• Apply Agile Scrum and DevOps methodologies for continuous improvement
• Contribute to operations during quarterly closing cycles

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent
• 6+ years of experience designing and implementing reliable, scalable software
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL
• Experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Delta Lake
• Hands-on experience with test-driven development

Nice to have

• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure DevOps
• Expertise with relational databases like Oracle or Postgres
• Experience with integration technologies such as REST/SOAP APIs
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot
