Applied AI Associate (Public Health)

About the role

WJCF seeks an Applied AI Associate for the Health Analytics and AI Unit, embedded within India's National Health Authority in New Delhi. This full-time role focuses on building production-grade AI pipelines, including RAG systems and data anonymization tools, to support public health analytics. The position requires translating programmatic priorities into technical solutions while ensuring strict data governance.

What you’ll do

• Translate NHA programmatic priorities into clear technical requirements and working solutions
• Build and operate scalable, monitored, and reproducible pipelines turning analytical designs into systems
• Develop workflows for AI-assisted data structuring, validation, and clinician-in-the-loop review
• Create de-identification and anonymization pipelines aligned with DPDP Act 2023 and SAHI guidelines
• Support hardening of production natural-language querying capabilities for aggregated programmatic data
• Apply model-monitoring, drift-detection, and reproducibility discipline across unit tools

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, statistics, public health, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience building ML/AI systems from prototype to production
• Hands-on experience evaluating and benchmarking LLM-based systems with defined accuracy thresholds
• Experience building retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems using embeddings and vector stores
• Proficiency in Python, mainstream ML stack, and strong SQL skills
