Software Development Engineer 1

About the role

Software Development Engineer 1 at IQVIA supports the design and development of software solutions that enhance IQVIA platforms to meet evolving user and business needs. Day-to-day work includes assisting in full-stack development, building and maintaining features with JavaScript, working with JSON-based data exchanges, querying PostgreSQL or other relational databases, troubleshooting code, and participating in platform enhancements. The role is based in Bangalore, India, and is a full-time position.

What you’ll do

• Assist in the design and development of software solutions under defined requirements
• Work across the full application stack, including front-end user interfaces and back-end services
• Develop and maintain application features using JavaScript
• Understand and consume key elements of JSON-based data exchanges as needed
• Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or other databases to query and extract structured and semi-structured data stored as JSON
• Troubleshoot code issues and implement fixes to ensure application stability and performance
• Participate in ongoing platform enhancements and feature updates based on user requirements
• Review functional specifications and validation deliverables as assigned

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Typically requires 1 year of relevant software development experience
• Intermediate proficiency in JavaScript
• Proficient understanding of JSON, including key structural elements
• Proficient knowledge of PostgreSQL or any other relational database

Nice to have

• Knowledge of analytics tools (reporting, dashboards, or data analysis tools) is preferred
• Exposure to AI tools such as Co pilot and Cursor AI is highly preferable
