IS Data Security - Specialist

About the role

ABB Information Security seeks an IS Data Security Specialist to lead the Information Protection Service in Bangalore. The role drives secure data protection operations, incident response, and governance while partnering with stakeholders to strengthen compliance. This hybrid position supports ABB’s cloud-first and AI-first strategy through continuous improvement of security capabilities.

What you’ll do

• Lead and manage ABB’s Information Protection services, including DLP, DSPM, and Insider Risk Management.
• Own service operations, governance, performance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Protect sensitive information across Microsoft 365, cloud, on-premises, endpoints, and AI-enabled services.
• Drive implementation, optimization, and operationalization of data security controls and policies.
• Lead data protection incident management, investigation, root cause analysis, and resolution.
• Partner with business, compliance, and cybersecurity teams to align solutions with regulatory requirements.
• Manage service KPIs, SLAs, risk remediation activities, and audit findings.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team while supporting cybersecurity and AI security transformation.

What you’ll bring

• 12+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, Data Security, DSPM, and DLP.
• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Purview, Varonis, Wiz, Zscaler, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong understanding of AI Security, Copilot Governance, and Generative AI security controls.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Purview & Security Certifications (SC-401, SC-500, or equivalent).
• Data Security Certifications.
• ITIL Foundation Certification.
• AI Security Certifications (Good to have).
