Asset Performance Management Specialist

About the role

ABB Ability Innovation Center drives digital solutions for global energy and process industries. The APM Specialist leads end‑to‑end execution of asset performance projects, configures ABB’s APM platform for electrical assets, and ensures reliable operation through testing and customer onboarding. Works from Bangalore with a hybrid model, collaborating with engineering, data science, and product teams to enhance asset availability and maintenance effectiveness.

What you’ll do

• Lead end‑to‑end execution of APM projects including requirement analysis, configuration, deployment and commissioning
• Tailor ABB’s APM platform for electrical asset families to improve availability and reliability
• Conduct system testing, troubleshooting and validation to ensure operational readiness
• Provide customer training, post‑deployment support and ongoing technical services
• Collaborate with global cross‑functional teams such as engineering, data science, UI/UX and product management
• Identify issues, raise defect reports and recommend enhancements during product development cycles

What you’ll bring

• 8+ years experience in process or energy industries
• 5+ years hands‑on maintenance of electrical assets in Oil & Gas, Refining, Petrochemicals, Power or Specialty Chemicals
• Strong understanding of RCM, CBM and reliability methodologies
• Experience deploying digital solutions on cloud and on‑premise environments
• Working knowledge of RHEL, container‑based edge systems, Windows administration, network architecture and cybersecurity
• Proficiency with OPC UA, Modbus, IEC 61850, HART, Profinet
• Asset modeling and coordination with R&D teams
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical preferred)
