Gap Tech, the technology hub driving retail and e‑commerce innovation for Gap Inc., builds data platforms that power global business operations. The Data Engineer partners with product managers and solution architects to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Databricks, Azure, and Spark, while guiding best practices and code quality. Hyderabad, On-site, hybrid schedule with occasional remote days as needed.

What you’ll do

• Partner with Product Managers and Solution Architects to define technical requirements
• Design detailed specifications for medium to complex business problems
• Build and maintain data pipelines from multiple business applications
• Guide team on design patterns and code quality metrics
• Conduct code reviews and ensure governance through version control
• Implement DevOps practices for continuous integration, testing, and automated releases
• Perform root cause analysis on data and processes to drive improvements
• Recommend emerging technologies and application solutions

What you’ll bring

• 9-11 years experience as Data Engineer
• Graduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience with Spark, Spark SQL, Python and related libraries
• Hands‑on with Databricks on Azure, ADF, PySpark
• Proficient in PowerBI or MicroStrategy reporting
• Strong knowledge of relational and non‑relational databases
• Source control using GitHub and CI/CD with Jenkins
• Linux shell and Python scripting automation
