About the role
West Pharmaceutical Services seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer in Bengaluru to manage enterprise compute, virtualization, and storage platforms. The role involves implementing Dell PowerEdge servers, administering VMware vSphere 8.x, and maintaining backup solutions like Avamar and Veeam. This is a hybrid position requiring specific India time zone availability.
What you’ll do
- Implement and support Dell PowerEdge server infrastructure
- Deploy and administer VMware vSphere 8.x environments
- Maintain backup solutions using Dell Avamar, Veeam, and Data Domain
- Configure Data Domain systems including replication and retention policies
- Perform server builds, hypervisor installations, patching, and firmware upgrades
- Troubleshoot complex hardware, virtualization, storage, and backup issues
- Execute disaster recovery procedures and backup restoration activities
- Apply security patches, hardening standards, and vulnerability remediation
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
- Minimum 5 years in infrastructure engineering and administration
- Hands-on experience with Dell PowerEdge hardware
- Proficiency in VMware vSphere 8.x (ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS)
- Experience with Dell Avamar, Veeam, and Data Domain
- Knowledge of SAN/NAS storage concepts (iSCSI, FC, NFS)
Nice to have
- Basic scripting skills using PowerCLI for automation
- Experience with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022/2025 administration
