About the role

The Digital group within ABB Industrial Automation seeks a Digital Solution Engineering Specialist in Bangalore to deliver AI-enabled Industry Analytics solutions. The role involves coordinating digital solution implementation, supporting customer adoption of Asset Performance Management platforms, and providing ongoing technical support. This hybrid position requires deep expertise in mechanical systems and reliability engineering.

What you’ll do

• Coordinate and facilitate development, implementation, and onboarding of digital solutions.
• Support adoption of digital platforms into customer environments and provide operations/maintenance support.
• Perform software engineering tasks including testing, troubleshooting, and release management.
• Train customers on system setups and provide ongoing support services.
• Ensure resources are available to implement software on-time and on-budget.
• Contribute to product roadmap by suggesting new features and functionality.
• Participate in ideation workstreams from need identification to development definition.
• Create functional specifications and technical documentation for APM solutions.

What you’ll bring

• B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5-10 years experience in mechanical engineering, asset management, or reliability engineering.
• Deep understanding of mechanical equipment (motors, pumps, turbines) and failure modes.
• Experience with condition monitoring techniques like vibration analysis and thermal monitoring.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with reliability concepts (MTBF, RCM, FMECA) and Asset Performance Management principles.
• Knowledge of ISO standards for mechanical equipment and maintenance.
• Understanding of enterprise systems (ERP, SCADA, MES) and industrial software architecture.
• Basic knowledge of machine learning and AI concepts for predictive analytics.
