About the role
SRE (Managed Services) team at Pythian ensures the reliability and performance of client Windows and VMware infrastructures. The role administers Windows Server environments, manages VMware vSphere, performs patching, security hardening, and provides 24/7 on‑call support. Remote work from India, no daily office requirement.
What you’ll do
- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments
- Manage VMware infrastructure including HA and DRS
- Perform monthly patching and security updates
- Provide technical support and problem management
- Collaborate on infrastructure upgrades and migrations
- Document configurations and procedures
- Coordinate with vendors for support and procurement
- Participate in on‑call rotation
What you’ll bring
- 8-10 years overall IT infrastructure administration
- 5+ years Windows Server administration (2016, 2019+)
- 5+ years VMware administration (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi)
- PowerShell scripting experience
- Understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs)
- Experience in data‑center hosting environments
- On‑call rotation for 24/7 support
- Relevant certifications (e.g., VCP‑DCV, Azure Administrator)
