KIP Application Support Engineer – Associate Consultant

About the role

The KIP Application Support Engineer – Associate Consultant – MFT – KGS CH role at KPMG Assurance and Consulting Services LLP provides Level 1.5/2 support for the KPMG Insights Platform (KIP) across .NET applications, Azure cloud services, SharePoint Online, and Power BI/Microsoft Fabric. Day-to-day work includes incident triage, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, log analysis, service stabilisation, and escalation to L3 engineering teams while ensuring SLA adherence and operational excellence. Based in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, the position operates on a 7 AM – 7 PM UK Time support window.

What you’ll do

  • Provide L1.5/L2 support for KIP applications and platforms across all technology stacks, handling repeatable and moderately complex incidents
  • Perform structured troubleshooting and diagnostics, including log analysis (IIS, application logs, exception traces) for .NET applications
  • Support Azure services such as App Services, Functions, Logic Apps, Storage, Key Vault, Azure Entra, Azure Monitor, App Insights, and Log Analytics
  • Troubleshoot Power BI/Microsoft Fabric datasets, reports, and workspaces, including refresh failures, access/permission issues, and data validation with SQL/Azure SQL
  • Support SharePoint Online sites, document libraries, permissions, sync behaviour, and page/component issues
  • Monitor application/platform health, alerts, and support mailboxes; perform post-deployment validation, smoke testing, and support release, hypercare, and stabilisation phases
  • Create and maintain Knowledge Base articles, SOPs, and runbooks; contribute to RCA documentation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Escalate to KIP L3 team with clear technical evidence and reproduction steps; work closely with L3 Engineering, Data, and Cloud teams and support business teams with license tracking, mailbox manageme

What you’ll bring

  • Basic knowledge of .NET Core, C#, and Web API, with understanding of application lifecycle and deployments
  • Hands-on exposure to Azure services and monitoring tools, with understanding of cloud-based troubleshooting and logs
  • Knowledge of Power BI Service, datasets, and workspaces, including data refresh and reporting issues
  • Understanding of SharePoint Online site structures, permissions, and access models
  • Basic SQL knowledge for data validation and checks
  • Strong understanding of ITIL processes: Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools and ability to follow SOP-driven support models
  • Excellent communication skills for stakeholder interaction and ability to work in UK-aligned support hours
