About the role
Applications Engineering Team at Microchip Technology designs and supports storage and data center solutions. The role develops firmware and software, collaborates with product, validation, marketing and sales teams to enable customers in data center, AI and storage applications. Bangalore, India, on-site work model, travel up to 25% of time.
What you’ll do
- Develop and debug multi‑threaded firmware and software for storage controllers
- Create and maintain test scripts and automation frameworks
- Provide technical support and issue resolution for customers
- Collaborate with product development, validation, marketing and sales on design wins
- Lead discussions and coordinate efforts across global teams
- Utilize storage networking protocols and bench equipment for validation
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in EE, CS, or CE
- 3+ years industry experience
- C/C++ programming
- Perl/bash/python scripting
- Customer‑facing technical support
- Experience with storage networking protocols (PCIe, SAS, SATA)
- Use of bench‑top test equipment (logic analyzer, protocol analyzer)
- Cross‑functional team leadership
