BMC Helix Discovery Architect

About the role

BMC Helix Discovery Architect role within the IT Service Management team, responsible for designing, deploying, and optimizing BMC Helix Discovery solutions to enhance CMDB accuracy and service visibility. Leads end‑to‑end discovery implementations, collaborates with ITSM, cloud, and security teams, and develops custom patterns and automation scripts. Mumbai, India, on‑site work model, with opportunities to mentor administrators and shape discovery best practices.

What you’ll do

• Design and implement BMC Helix Discovery architecture
• Lead deployment of discovery configurations, credentials, patterns, and integrations
• Collaborate with ITSM, CMDB, cloud, and security teams for accurate service modeling
• Develop and maintain custom discovery patterns and automation scripts
• Establish best practices for discovery scheduling, data normalization, and reconciliation
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to administrators
• Create architectural documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years BMC Helix Discovery design and implementation
• Expertise in BMC Helix CMDB and ITSM/ITOM integration
• Multi‑cloud discovery experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Proficiency with networking protocols, OS platforms, databases
• REST/SOAP API development
• ITIL process knowledge (Configuration, Change, Incident, Problem)
• Kubernetes/OpenShift container discovery
• ServiceNow/BMC Helix ITSM integration
