About the role

This Staff Data Scientist role supports a partner company shaping statistical modeling and machine learning for residential real estate valuation. The position involves designing production-grade systems, mentoring team members, and collaborating with executive leadership to solve complex analytical problems. It is a remote position based in India.

What you’ll do

• Design and implement production-quality statistical and ML systems for property valuation
• Partner with technical leadership to develop innovative valuation methodologies
• Translate research concepts into scalable, maintainable, production-ready software
• Design rigorous evaluation frameworks to measure model performance and reliability
• Develop methodologies for rare properties, confidence estimation, and uncertainty quantification
• Build interpretable ML systems providing transparent results for consumers and appraisers
• Establish technical standards, modeling practices, and engineering best practices
• Contribute to technical hiring, mentoring, and knowledge sharing

What you’ll bring

• Strong professional background in machine learning and statistics
• Experience building and deploying production-quality ML systems
• Excellent Python programming skills and software engineering fundamentals
• Experience with testing, version control, and modular architecture
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling and interpretable ML
• Ability to reason from first principles and solve ambiguous problems
