About the role
Baggage Handling Systems team at Vanderlande designs advanced baggage handling solutions. The Mechanical Project Engineer creates 3D conveyor models, develops 2D drawings, and leads layout engineering while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety, ergonomics, and efficiency. Pune, On-site, 5 days a week, relocation assistance available.
What you’ll do
- Design and optimize system layouts for BHS projects
- Create and manage 3D conveyor models and 2D drawings
- Coordinate interfaces across mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines
- Lead layout engineering teams and liaise with clients and suppliers
- Support site activities including installation files and as‑built documentation
- Estimate timelines, resources, and budgets for mechanical scope
- Develop work packages and track delivery
- Mentor new engineers and share project learnings
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in baggage or material handling automation (preferred)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (3D/2D)
- Knowledge of SolidWorks and Revit
- Familiarity with MS Office
- Experience with conveyor/mechanical system design
- Budgeting and timeline estimation
- Leadership and mentoring of junior engineers
