ASC Coding Specialist

About the role
ASC Coding Specialist at Ventra Health, part of the ASC Coding team focused on accurate medical coding for anesthesia and related specialties. The role reviews clinical documentation to assign ICD‑10‑CM and CPT codes, ensures compliance with CMS and Ventra guidelines, and provides feedback on documentation gaps. Working remotely from South India, the specialist collaborates with a global team, attends initial onsite orientation in Chennai, and supports audits and QA activities.
What you’ll do
- Assign ICD‑10‑CM and CPT codes
- Perform MIPS review
- Conduct provider QA
- Document coding errors
- Assist coding management
- Support audits
- Provide feedback on documentation deficiencies
- Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA
What you’ll bring
- High School diploma or equivalent
- RHIT and/or CPC certification
- 1 year medical billing experience
- 2023 MDM Guidelines knowledge
Nice to have
- In-depth knowledge of CPT/ICD‑10 coding system
- Ability to read and interpret documentation
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Strong oral and written communication
- Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
