About the role

Cummins is hiring a Procurement and Supply Continuity Analyst - Team Lead in Pune, Maharashtra, India to execute buying strategies aligned with material buying plans, focusing on improving supplier performance and capacity ahead of demand. Day-to-day work includes collaborating with the sourcing team on supplier process improvement, analyzing procurement initiatives for cost-effective delivery, preparing improvement recommendations for senior procurement leaders, supporting the linkage between procurement and manufacturing facilities, interacting with suppliers on payment and order fulfillment, collecting supplier scorecard data, providing delivery/expediting support during supplier issues, and supporting engineering releases. The role is full-time, on-site with flexibility, and operates on a shift from 5 PM to 2 AM IST.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborates with sourcing team for supplier process improvement while maintaining high quality product and/or service delivery
  • Analyzes procurement initiatives and processes in support of delivery of cost effective and high quality goods and services
  • Prepares and presents recommendations of improvement opportunities and alternative courses of action to senior procurement leaders
  • Consistently applies sourcing policies, procedures and processes
  • Supports linkage between procurement and manufacturing facilities and serves as communication conduit between manufacturing and suppliers
  • Interacts with suppliers with regard to payment issues and order fulfillment
  • Collects/validates relevant supplier score card data
  • Provides delivery/expediting support to the plant/site during supplier issues and supports management and execution of engineering releases

What you’ll bring

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in a related business field such as supply chain management
  • Understanding of the S2P end-to-end process
  • Strong understanding of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes; ability to identify process-related vs. data-related vs. system-related issues
  • Review and assess procurement cost variance (e.g., Invoice Price Variance, PO Price Variance) and provide resolution
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication
  • Cross-functional communication: clear, concise, skilled at escalating issues and translating complex issues into simple next steps
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: quickly diagnose root cause, navigate transactional systems, interpret data for corrective actions
  • Negotiations excellence: utilize tools and methods to achieve stakeholder objectives and mutually agreed contract terms

Nice to have

  • Minimal prior experience is required
  • Proficiency in procurement systems and Supplier Payment management tools/systems
  • Proficiency in building dashboards and data visual tools, and creating macros (Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps, Advanced Excel macros, SQL, etc.)
  • Ability to identify when issues are process-related vs. data-related vs. system-related
  • Comfortable navigating transactional systems and interpreting data to determine corrective actions
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
