About the role

Ad Engineering Team at Roku builds a highly scalable, real-time advertising platform that powers Roku's growing ad business. The Senior Software Engineer designs, develops and maintains large‑scale, low‑latency backend services, owns feature delivery and drives platform innovation while collaborating with product and engineering partners. Role based in Bengaluru with a hybrid schedule (office Monday‑Thursday, flexible Friday).

What you’ll do

• Design, develop and maintain high‑performance real‑time backend applications
• Own end‑to‑end feature implementation collaborating with product and engineering teams
• Advocate best practices across development, QA and ops functions
• Drive platform innovation and reuse across services
• Deliver high‑quality software on schedule
• Mentor and guide junior engineers
• Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences

What you’ll bring

• 8+ years building large‑scale low‑latency distributed systems
• Proficiency in Java or C++
• Strong algorithms, data structures and performance optimization skills
• Multi‑threading and real-time programming experience
• Experience with distributed caching and SQL/NoSQL databases
• Big Data and cloud services (AWS/GCP) familiarity
• Advertising domain knowledge a plus
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field
