About the role
Data Product Integrations team at Assent builds and maintains canonical data models, contracts, and schema standards to enable reliable partner integrations. The Senior Data Engineer designs and implements data validation frameworks, observability tooling, and integration quality metrics while guiding partners on ETL/ELT patterns and data mappings. Works collaboratively with DevOps, Infrastructure, Data Engineering, and Product teams in a hybrid model based in India, supporting scalable ingestion and governance across the platform.
What you’ll do
- Define and maintain canonical data models and schema standards
- Review and validate integration designs and data mappings
- Develop data validation frameworks and observability tooling
- Create integration quality metrics and triage processes
- Champion coding and documentation best practices within the team
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support scalable ingestion patterns
- Apply data governance standards to integration domain
- Communicate technical concepts to internal and external stakeholders
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years data engineering experience
- Strong data modeling and schema design expertise
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience with JSON, CSV, XML and REST APIs
- Familiarity with GitHub version control
- Knowledge of AWS, Snowflake and dbt preferred
- Experience with data observability tools like Airflow or Great Expectations
