About the role

State Street Cyber Security Architecture & Engineering team builds and secures enterprise applications through advanced Application Detection and Response (ADR) capabilities. The Application Security Engineer designs, implements, and supports ADR platforms, partners with engineering and security teams to monitor, analyze, and remediate application-layer threats, and creates detection logic, dashboards, and response workflows. Hyderabad and Bangalore, India – hybrid role working 4 days onsite per week, supporting global stakeholders.

What you’ll do

  • Define and build ADR strategy integrating runtime security monitoring
  • Partner with engineering, security operations, cloud security, and development teams to operationalize ADR
  • Lead deployment, onboarding, and support of ADR platforms across enterprise applications
  • Monitor, analyze, and investigate application‑layer security events and attack patterns
  • Collaborate with application teams to triage, prioritize, and remediate findings
  • Develop use cases, detection logic, alerts, and response workflows to improve visibility
  • Integrate ADR platforms with incident response processes and reporting
  • Create and maintain documentation, standards, and procedures for ADR and DevSecOps

What you’ll bring

  • 14+ years of relevant experience in development, CI/CD, software supply chain security and application security
  • Strong software development background with Java, .NET, Python, Node.js or similar
  • Experience with Azure and AWS cloud technologies
  • Expertise in SAST, DAST, SCA, API Security, Container Security, Secure SDLC
  • Hands‑on experience with ADR, RASP, WAAP, threat detection technologies
  • Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, API security risks, and advanced threat scenarios
  • Proficiency in analyzing telemetry, logs, traces, and security events
  • Current certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GWAPT preferred

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, Engineering, or related discipline
