Senior Windows Platform Engineer

About the role

The Sr. Systems Engineer - Windows Platform Engineer at Williams-Sonoma owns the engineering, automation, security, and lifecycle management of the company's Windows Server platform and Microsoft infrastructure services. Day-to-day, you design, improve, and operate highly available Windows platforms, partner with cross-functional teams (Cybersecurity, Cloud, Networking, Linux, Storage, Enterprise Tools), and mature the platform through automation and operational excellence. This hybrid role is based in Pune, Maharashtra, India and reports to the Sr. Manager, Infrastructure Engineering Operations.

What you’ll do

• Engineer, operate, and take ownership of Williams-Sonoma's Windows Server platform and Microsoft infrastructure services
• Design, improve, and automate secure, highly available Windows platforms supporting global business operations
• Partner with Senior Engineers, Architects, Cybersecurity, Cloud, Networking, Linux, Storage, and Enterprise Tools teams to operationalize new platform capabilities
• Improve system reliability and reduce operational complexity across the Windows platform
• Continuously mature the Windows platform through automation, engineering best practices, and operational excellence
• Manage the lifecycle of Windows Server platforms and Microsoft infrastructure services
• Standardize and secure Windows platform configurations and services

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years of enterprise Windows platform engineering or systems engineering experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows Server
• Experience with Active Directory Domain Services
• Experience with Group Policy
• Proficiency in PowerShell
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code
• Experience with Microsoft Azure
