Senior Project Engineer (Oil Skid)

About the role

Jord International's Senior Project Engineer (Oil Skid) leads and manages multiple oil skid projects from internal kick-off through final customer payment, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to quality requirements. Day-to-day work includes evaluating RFQs and preparing quotes, reviewing job files and specifications, developing risk-mitigation strategies, implementing engineering/procurement/manufacturing/quality strategies, managing scope and EOT/EOC claims, coordinating with engineers, managers, clients, and stakeholders, and monitoring progress and corrective actions. The role also provides guidance to fellow project engineers and continuously improves project management processes. Based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, the position requires willingness and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

What you’ll do

• Support sales activities by evaluating RFQ packages and preparing quote estimates for review with the respective lead engineer/manager prior to submission to the client.
• Review the sales job file before the internal kick-off meeting to ensure it is comprehensive, documenting any grey areas or omissions with a timeline for resolution without impacting project deliverab
• Review the history of problems on previous similar projects and develop/implement a strategy to mitigate against such risks occurring again.
• Review project specifications, requirements, and objectives and provide technical input and feedback.
• Carry out a comprehensive project plan and adjust it to manage changes in the project's risk landscape.
• Implement engineering, procurement, manufacturing and quality strategy based on contractual requirements and Jord procedures.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, regulations, and best practices.

What you’ll bring

• At least 6 to 11 years of project execution experience with a basic understanding of Engineering, Procurement, Shipping, Fabrication and QA/QC activities.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering and/or Project Management.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience in managing projects that adhere to timeline, budgets, quality and mitigate risk.
• Understanding of commercial terms and financial objectives of projects.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail, quality, and accuracy.
• Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
