About the role
Plant Electrical Design & Engineering team at Tata Steel focuses on delivering robust electrical and power systems across multiple sites. The Manager leads conceptual and detailed engineering, oversees procurement, vendor relations, and ensures compliance with codes while coordinating multidisciplinary integration. Based in Jajpur, Jamshedpur, Meramandali, Noamundi, West Bokaro, on-site work model.
What you’ll do
- Lead conceptualization and basic engineering phases for plant electrical and power systems
- Oversee detailed engineering and procurement activities for electrical infrastructure
- Manage interfaces between electrical systems and other plant disciplines
- Develop and review construction deliverables ensuring compliance
- Engage with vendors and technology suppliers for equipment solutions
- Estimate macro Bill of Quantities and project costs
- Ensure health, safety, and quality protocols throughout lifecycle
- Monitor and control design progress from concept to commissioning
- Coordinate with internal departments and suppliers on design matters
- Participate in value engineering and 3D model reviews
