Executive / Sr Executive – General Accounting

About the role

Senior Executive – General Accounting leads the end‑to‑end accounting for NEC’s global units. Oversees GL entries, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, depreciation, and SAP fixed‑asset management. Manages a team of executives in a shared‑service environment, ensuring accurate financial closing, intercompany reconciliations, and compliance with local and international standards. Drives process re‑engineering, internal controls, and audit support. Requires a postgraduate degree in Operations or related field, 2‑6 years RTR experience, strong SAP Finance knowledge, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Demonstrates detail orientation, organizational skills, and effective communication. Works 8.5 hours/day (Australia Shift) across Mumbai, Bangalore, and Pune.

What you’ll do

• Oversee general accounting for all country units
• Ensure timely and accurate financial closing
• Manage GL entries, reconciliations, and adjustments
• Prepare and post standard and complex journal entries
• Perform periodic balance sheet and P&L reconciliations
• Calculate and post accruals for expenses and provisions
• Update SAP fixed asset module and run depreciation
• Process routine journal entries for book closing and asset disposal
• Respond to queries promptly
• Create data trackers for monitoring activities
• Record and process intercompany invoices, payments, and journal entries
• Perform monthly intercompany account reconciliations
• Coordinate with internal teams to reconcile intercompany balances
• Prepare and analyze intercompany reports for close processes
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations
• Maintain intercompany agreements and transfer pricing alignment
• Support implementation and monitoring of internal controls
• Perform and review reconciliations for key accounts
• Resolve issues with finance, tax, treasury, and business units
• Escalate unresolved intercompany issues to management
• Manage SLA and KPI
• Provide audit support during internal and external audits

What you’ll bring

• Postgraduate degree in Operations or related field
• 2-6 years experience in RTR process
• Proven team management in shared service environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good knowledge of Finance processes and SAP Finance modules
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
