About the role

Identity Management Engineering (IDM) team serving the Privileged Access Team (PAM) at Okta builds large‑scale, mission‑critical identity software. The Staff Software Engineer in Test leads test planning, automation of API, end‑to‑end, reliability and scale tests, and ensures high‑quality releases while supporting on‑call production issues. Bengaluru, hybrid work model, relocation assistance available.

What you’ll do

• Review requirements and design specs to create test plans and cases
• Automate API, end‑to‑end, reliability and scale tests
• Collaborate with engineering management to scope and plan efforts
• Document QE plans for scrum teams
• Review code, identify bugs, and architect testing tools
• Maintain zero‑debt test coverage and release quality
• Respond to production alerts and customer issues on‑call
• Advocate for customers with a strong quality DNA

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years QE experience in enterprise SaaS
• 3+ years quality engineering for enterprise software
• 5+ years Python/Java automation development
• Experience with Selenium, TestCafe, Postman, Jmeter, Locust
• Familiarity with AWS and Kubernetes
• Experience with distributed systems at large scale
• Knowledge of non‑HTTP protocols (SSH, RDP, TLS, LDAP)
• Performance testing experience a plus
