React Native Developer

About the role

Cognizant's Technology & Engineering team seeks a React Native Developer to design and build high-quality mobile and web applications for consumer lending products. Day-to-day work involves architecting scalable React Native and React JS apps, integrating secure Rest APIs, optimizing networking libraries, and collaborating via GIT in a hybrid day-shift model. The role is based in KOLKATA, West Bengal, India, with a focus on robust architecture, compliance, and performant borrower experiences.

What you’ll do

• Design and architect scalable mobile applications for consumer lending solutions ensuring robust modular structures that support maintainable code and future feature growth
• Develop and enhance responsive user interfaces using React JS and React Native that deliver intuitive borrowing experiences while meeting accessibility and performance expectations
• Implement secure and well-structured Rest API integrations that enable reliable data exchange between mobile clients and backend services with strong focus on consumer lending workflows
• Configure and optimize networking library usage to ensure resilient connectivity, graceful error handling, and efficient data transfer across diverse mobile and web environments
• Collaborate with product and domain experts to translate consumer lending requirements into technical designs that balance regulatory constraints, operational risk, and customer usability
• Apply version control best practices using GIT including branching, merging, and code review workflows to maintain high code quality and predictable release cycles in a hybrid work setting
• Investigate and resolve production issues by analyzing logs, monitoring performance metrics, and applying networking and API debugging techniques to restore stable experiences for lending customers
• Coordinate with security and compliance stakeholders to embed encryption, validation, and data protection practices into mobile architecture aligning with consumer lending regulations and organization

What you’ll bring

• Hands-on experience designing and implementing mobile app architecture using modern patterns such as component-based structures and navigation strategies suited for complex lending journeys
• Advanced proficiency with Rest API design and consumption including request modeling, response handling, and error management tailored to secure financial data exchanges
• Strong capability working with networking libraries to manage timeouts, retries, connectivity detection, and secure transport
• Solid skills in React JS for building modular front-end components, state management, and routing supporting data-driven lending dashboards
• Deep experience with React Native to deliver high-performing cross-platform mobile applications, leveraging native modules when needed
• Fluent use of GIT for collaborative development including pull requests, conflict resolution, and release tagging
• Practical knowledge of consumer lending concepts including credit assessment, loan lifecycle, repayment schedules, and regulatory considerations
• Ability to conduct thorough unit, integration, and end-to-end testing of mobile and web features focusing on loan origination, repayment, and account management scenarios
