About the role

Expeditors, a global logistics company headquartered in Seattle, Washington, seeks a Senior Customs Brokerage Agent in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. The role involves receiving documents, preparing customs entries in Customs Ware, ensuring accurate and timely data entry, and monitoring customs clearances while communicating with customers. The agent must meet compliance with internal policies and external regulations, meet KPI standards, and ensure smooth freight process flow. This is a full-time position within a global community focused on professionalism, leadership, and customer service.

What you’ll do

Receive documents and prepare customs entries in Customs Ware
Understand elements of Import & export customs SOP
Ensure accurate and timely data entry into operating systems
Ensure timely customs clearance of shipments and monitor customs clearances
Communicate with customers regarding customs clearances and arrange shipments meeting customer service standards
Meet compliance at all times to regulations including internal policies (OPS) and external government regulations
Meet KPI standards as per company procedures and ensure smooth and timely freight process flow
Oversee overseas communications, provide timely responses to emails and requests, and escalate problems to management when necessary

What you’ll bring

Good knowledge of customs brokerage process and customs legislation, especially regarding classification, valuation, and origin
Understanding of ocean, road, and air documentation process
Effective interpersonal skills
Pro-active approach with strong organizational and computer skills
Good computer skills including MS Excel and MS Word
Fluent in English
Ability to receive documents and prepare customs entries in Customs Ware
Ensure accurate and timely data entry into operating systems and timely customs clearance of shipments
