Design Engineer - Electro Mechanical

About the role

Ohmium is seeking a Design Engineer - Electro mechanical to lead the design, modeling, and integration of complex electromechanical systems, PCBA enclosures, and cabling assemblies. The role manages the full design process from concept to DVT, coordinates cross-functional teams, and supports multiple projects with technical project management. Based in Bengaluru, India, the position requires travel when needed and a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 2-5 years of hands-on product design experience.

What you’ll do

• Lead the design, modeling, and integration of complex electromechanical systems, PCBA enclosures, and cabling assemblies
• Manage the entire design process from concept to DVT stage, adhering to first principles of design methodology
• Technically project manage multiple projects with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project completion
• Apply engineering principles and technical calculations relevant to mechanical engineering
• Travel when required to support project needs

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• 2-5 years of hands-on experience in product design
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Electro-Mechanical Design
• Proficient in SolidWorks or Solid Edge
• Hands-on experience in sheet metal, complex assemblies & drawings creation
• Hands-on experience in Team Center, BOM creation, ECN, ECR
• Working knowledge of DFMEA
• Sound knowledge of technical calculations relevant to mechanical engineering

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge in manufacturing processes
• Previous experience in the renewable energy sector is a plus
• Dynamic to adapt for changing conditions
