About the role
Emerging Businesses Advisory at PwC focuses on driving client transformation through cutting‑edge data solutions. As a Senior Associate Data Engineer you will design, build and maintain Azure‑based ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestrate workflows with Data Factory, and ensure data quality and governance for analytics and ML consumption. Bengaluru, India, on‑site role with standard office schedule.
What you’ll do
- Design, build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines on Azure using Spark
- Orchestrate data workflows with Azure Data Factory and Databricks jobs
- Develop and manage data lakes on Azure Blob Storage/ADLS Gen2
- Implement curated data layers and optimize Spark job performance
- Operationalize pipelines with monitoring, logging and alerting
- Enforce security and governance best practices on Azure
- Contribute to infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines
- Participate in on‑call rotations and incident response
What you’ll bring
- 6+ years as Data Engineer
- Expert-level Apache Spark (PySpark/Scala)
- Hands‑on Databricks and Azure HDInsight
- Proficient Azure Data Factory orchestration
- Strong Python and SQL performance tuning
- Experience with Azure Blob Storage/ADLS Gen2
- Version control with Git
- Excellent cross‑functional communication
