Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer

About the role

Mindrift seeks a Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer for the Tendem project to drive specialized data scraping workflows. You will handle end-to-end extraction from complex, dynamic websites using Python and modern tools. This freelance role is fully remote with flexible hours.

What you’ll do

• Own end-to-end data extraction workflows across complex websites
• Leverage tools and custom workflows to accelerate data collection and validation
• Ensure reliable extraction from dynamic and interactive web sources
• Enforce data quality standards through validation checks and consistency controls
• Scale scraping operations for large datasets using efficient batching or parallelization

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years in data engineering, web scraping, or software development
• Strong Python web scraping skills (BeautifulSoup, Selenium)
• Experience with dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs via proxies
• Proven ability to extract data from complex structures
• Solid background in data cleaning, normalization, and validation
• Experience handling anti-bot mechanisms at scale
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and containerization (Docker)
• Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks (LangChain, OpenRouter)

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related technical fields is a plus.
