About the role
Senior Software Engineer in Test at Barracuda Networks, leading automation strategy for Email Protection systems. Drives end-to-end test strategy, mentors junior SDETs, and influences design for testability across distributed SaaS environments. Utilizes Playwright, Python, CI/CD, and AI tools to improve coverage, reliability, and incident response at scale.
What you’ll do
- Own automation strategy for Email Protection systems
- Define quality signals for distributed SaaS systems
- Influence design for testability early in SDLC
- Mentor junior SDETs across initiatives
- Lead testing across time zones without direct authority
- Build robust automation with Playwright and Python
- Perform risk-based exploratory testing
- Leverage AI tools for test generation and failure analysis
- Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Improve coverage, productivity, and signal quality
What you’ll bring
- BS or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ yrs test automation in Python
- Strong collaboration with devs, PMs, stakeholders
- Mentor junior SDETs, lead testing initiatives
- Evaluate & introduce new tools/practices
Nice to have
- Playwright test automation experience
- CI/CD pipeline integration
- Email, cloud, or SaaS security exposure
