Intermediate Applications Developer

About the role

This role supports full systems life cycle management for mainframe applications, including analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance. The developer will work with COBOL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, SAS, JCL, PL/1, and collaborate in a SAFe Agile environment to deliver solutions, troubleshoot production issues, and enhance performance and security.

What you’ll do

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using COBOL, VSAM, DB2, CICS, SAS, JCL, PL/1.
• Participate in the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and project managers in an SAFe Agile environment to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications to improve performance, security, and functionality.
• Develop and execute unit tests, integrate solutions, and provide detailed documentation.
• Ensure the highest quality of code and contribute to the overall improvement of the development process.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, methodologies, and industry trends related to mainframe development.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s Degree or International equivalent
