About the role

Functional Safety team at BorgWarner India Technical Center focuses on ensuring safety compliance for electrification power electronics. The leader drives ISO26262 system‑level safety, defines requirements for transmission, inverter and DC‑DC converters, and guides the team through safety planning, testing and change management. Bengaluru, India, on‑site role.

What you’ll do

• Lead Functional Safety team providing technical guidance on ISO26262 Parts 4‑6
• Derive safety requirements for transmission, inverter and DC‑DC converters
• Develop technical safety concepts, hardware and software safety requirements
• Create Level‑2 function monitoring per EGAS standards
• Design system architecture using MATLAB tools
• Coordinate with global experts to specify power electronics subsystems
• Manage change and requirements in Polarion
• Generate and execute functional test plans and compliance testing

What you’ll bring

• 10-12 years experience
• ISO26262 functional safety expertise
• Power electronics design background
• Experience with MATLAB and Polarion
• Hands‑on hardware and software safety requirement development
• Vehicle and dynamometer testing experience
• Microcontroller and ASIC knowledge
• Cybersecurity knowledge (optional)
