Chief PST Expert

About the role

SYSTRA India is seeking a Chief PST Expert-K1 for the Mumbai Metro Line 5, 7A & 9 General Consultant Systems Project. The role oversees the design, implementation, and integration of Power Supply and Traction systems for metro rail projects, ensuring electrical infrastructure is safe, reliable, efficient, and compliant. Based in New Delhi, the expert provides technical leadership across planning, design, tendering, procurement, and commissioning phases while coordinating with interdisciplinary teams and liaising with clients and authorities.

What you’ll do

• Lead all activities related to power supply (including substations) and traction systems (such as third rail or overhead catenary)
• Provide strategic input in planning, design, tendering, procurement, and commissioning phases
• Review and approve all technical designs, drawings, and calculations submitted by contractors or vendors
• Ensure compatibility and integration with rolling stock, signalling, and other subsystems
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams (civil, signalling, telecom, rolling stock, etc.) to ensure seamless system integration
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and relevant authorities for all PST-related deliverables
• Ensure design and implementation adhere to local and international standards (e.g., IEC, EN, IS standards)
• Oversee safety studies (such as RAMS, EMC/EMI, and earthing/bonding)

What you’ll bring

• Graduate in Electrical Engineering
• 20+ years of experience
• 8+ years in OHE/RSS/TSS/SCADA in Metro/Railway projects
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills
• Ability to work within a culturally diverse organization
• Ability to problem solve in an integrated project delivery environment
• Self-motivated with outstanding leadership skills and ability to influence without authority
• Strong leadership skills with proven ability to lead a team and make independent decisions
