Senior Manager, Low Carbon Transition

About the role

Low Carbon Transition workstream at Climate Policy Initiative focuses on decarbonisation pathways for energy, industry, mobility and urban sectors. The Senior Manager leads research, stakeholder engagement and capacity‑building projects, overseeing reports, briefs and workshops while mentoring junior staff. Based in New Delhi with on‑site work model, the role shapes low‑carbon strategies and collaborates with policymakers, financiers and industry partners.

What you’ll do

• Own and manage complex research assignments and analytical projects
• Deliver high‑quality knowledge products such as reports, executive summaries, blogs and presentations
• Support business development and program administration, including staff time allocation
• Drive research on low‑carbon topics across power, urban resilience, mobility and industry
• Coordinate meetings, workshops and conferences, maintaining stakeholder relationships
• Represent CPI at high‑level events and present research findings
• Mentor junior staff and foster team motivation

What you’ll bring

• 12+ years post‑qualification experience in economics, finance, policy or power sector
• Post‑graduate degree in business, economics, finance, engineering, sustainable development or public policy
• Graduate degree in engineering, preferably electrical or mechanical
• Experience analysing India’s low‑carbon transition and related policies
• Knowledge of finance, decarbonisation and carbon finance in Indian context
