About the role

Iris Software is seeking a Java - Senior Engineer to join its Gurugram team, building scalable enterprise applications and mission-critical systems for clients across financial services, healthcare, transportation & logistics, and professional services. Day-to-day, you will design and develop microservices and REST APIs using Core Java, Spring Boot, and JPA, define API contracts and integration strategies, optimize performance through caching and JVM tuning, own end-to-end module delivery, conduct code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and mentor junior developers. The role is based in Gurugram, India.

What you’ll do

  • Design and develop scalable enterprise applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture
  • Define API contracts, service boundaries, and integration strategies for distributed and enterprise-grade systems
  • Develop reusable backend components and enterprise services following clean architecture and secure coding practices
  • Optimize application performance through caching, asynchronous processing, database tuning, and JVM optimization
  • Own end-to-end delivery of assigned modules including design, development, testing support, and deployment readiness
  • Conduct code reviews ensuring adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and engineering best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Design event-driven architectures and asynchronous communication mechanisms to improve system scalability and resilience

What you’ll bring

  • 7-10 years of experience (posting states 6-8 years) in Java development
  • Proficiency in Spring Boot and Spring Security with JWT
  • Strong knowledge of Microservices architecture and REST APIs
  • Experience with multithreading, concurrency, and OOPS concepts
  • Hands-on with Java 8+ and JPA
  • Backend unit testing skills using JUnit
  • Solid understanding of data structures
  • Familiarity with Kafka, Git, and MS SQL
