Technology Assurance Senior Specialist

About the role

Technology Risk & Controls function at WPP, delivering independent assurance over Technology Operations control environments. The Senior Specialist performs control design and operating effectiveness testing, supports audits (including SOX 404), and documents risks and remediation. Chennai, hybrid (teams in office ~4 days/week).

What you’ll do

• Perform control design and operating effectiveness testing across Technology Operations processes
• Support internal, external and client audits, including preparation and evidence coordination
• Liaise with Control Owners and Operators to validate audit evidence
• Maintain documentation of risks, controls, testing results and remediation activity
• Monitor and track audit deficiencies and follow up remediation actions
• Review remediation evidence to confirm proper implementation
• Conduct walkthroughs of automated and manual controls
• Identify and document mitigating controls for gaps

What you’ll bring

• Solid understanding of Technology Operations control environments (ITGCs, IAM, cloud, service management)
• Prior experience in internal or external IT audit, risk or controls assurance
• Working knowledge of SOX 404 and supporting SOX audits
• Ability to execute control testing accurately and consistently
• Strong attention to detail and documentation standards
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams with minimal supervision
• Relevant certifications such as CISA, CIA, or CRISC
