About the role

Design Automation Team at FLSmidth builds and maintains product configuration models for mining solutions. The Senior Product Configuration Engineer designs, develops, and supports Tacton Configurator models, maps them to SolidWorks, and ensures seamless CPQ integration, while collaborating with on‑site product teams. Chennai, on-site, flexible work arrangement option available.

What you’ll do

Design and develop product models in Tacton Configurator Studio
Map product models using Tacton Design Automation for SolidWorks
Maintain and improve existing Tacton product models
Provide technical assistance on 3D/2D design automation
Collaborate with on‑site product team to clarify designs
Ensure compliance with specifications and documentation standards
Review drawings and BOMs for accuracy
Define and communicate design automation requirements
Delegate tasks and track team progress
Identify and automate CTO and ETO processes

What you’ll bring

4-6 years Tacton modeling experience
8-12 years SolidWorks part modeling and assembly experience
Proficiency with SolidWorks configurations and design tables
Experience with design automation tools
Knowledge of SolidWorks API (plus)
Familiarity with Tacton CPQ (plus)
Strong machine design knowledge
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
