About the role
Applications Development team at Citigroup builds and maintains core backend services for financial applications. The Java Backend Developer designs, codes, and supports Java-17 microservices using Spring Boot, Kafka, JMS, WebSphere MQ, and REST APIs, while collaborating with users and technology groups to enhance systems. Pune, India, hybrid work model with on-site presence as required.
What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain Java backend services
- Implement enhancements using script tools and code analysis
- Collaborate with users and technology groups to design solutions
- Conduct testing, debugging, and security vulnerability assessments
- Coach junior analysts and act as SME for stakeholders
What you’ll bring
- 4+ years relevant experience in financial services
- Strong Java-17, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, JMS, WebSphere MQ
- Proficient with Git, REST API, SSL
- Knowledge of Docker and OpenShift
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
