About the role

Lead Engineer, Site Reliability Engineering at LSEG focuses on evolving the Reliability Engineering team beyond support and operations. Responsibilities include maintaining Service Level Objectives, measuring and improving availability, latency, and system health, writing automation to scale systems, partnering with development teams to improve reliability and release velocity, participating in on‑call rotations, incident response, post‑mortems, root cause analysis, and advocating strong engineering practices. The role also enables cloud migration, performing architectural reviews, operational testing, configuring Datadog dashboards and metrics, and fostering continuous learning and development culture.

What you’ll do

  • Maintain Service Level Objectives for owned systems.
  • Measure and improve availability, latency, and overall system health.
  • Write automation to scale systems sustainably and recover service quickly.
  • Partner with development teams to improve reliability, observability, and release velocity.
  • Participate in on‑call rotations, incident response, post‑mortems, and root cause analysis.
  • Advocate strong engineering practices for scalable, reliable, and performant services.
  • Enable cloud migration through architectural reviews, operational testing, and configuring Datadog dashboards.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related technical field involving software/systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as: Shell, Python, or similar.
  • Experience in maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Hands on Experience with one of the following cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Knowledge on Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Observability tools like Datadog, Dynatrace or similar.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Incident response and running blameless post-mortems.
  • Proficient in Git workflows.

Nice to have

  • Minimum 8-10 years in the industry.
  • Experience on DevOps concepts and way of working.
  • Experience with algorithms and data structures.
  • Understanding of identity and access management, and application security.
  • Native Azure relational databases.
