Team Lead-Business System Analyst

About the role

Lead business system analysis at Ameriprise India, driving data solutions, system administration, and process improvements. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into functional specs, oversee VRS development, SQL tasks, and testing. Manage project plans, mentor developers, and ensure data quality and governance. Deliver solutions on time, within budget, and aligned with business goals.

What you’ll do

• Gather business info, incorporate into project plans
• Lead process improvements, create specs, estimate time
• Support system admin: change mgmt, maintenance, backups, config, docs
• Develop test plans, support VRS and SQL tasks
• Conduct meetings, train, coach, oversee developers
• Provide expertise on systems, educate partners
• Manage relationships with tech teams, negotiate solutions
• Drive continuous improvement of data analysis practices
• Partner with data governance, document metadata
• Ensure data quality, resolve issues, root cause analysis

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s in CS or equivalent experience
• 7‑10 yrs relevant experience
• 4+ yrs VRS development experience
• 6+ yrs business requirements elicitation
• Strong analytic skills for pattern identification
• Deep understanding of business and IT systems
• Proficient in modeling, requirements, visualization tools
• In‑depth knowledge of business operations
• Experience in analysis planning, test planning, and implementation

Nice to have

• Expert in financial industry concepts and data
• End‑to‑end VRS report development
• Dimensional data modeling, Power BI/QuickSight, metadata management
• Big data or cloud integration, AWS preferred
