About the role

The Global Product Engineering team within Mastercard’s Network & Digital Payments group seeks a Software Engineer II to develop authentication products for e-commerce transactions. The role involves designing Java-based backend services and building UI applications using Angular, Vue, and Node.js in an agile environment. This position is based in Pune, India, as an on-site full-time role.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and own Java-based backend services and REST APIs
• Build and enhance UI applications using Angular, Vue, and Node.js
• Own end-to-end delivery including design, testing, deployment, and documentation
• Ensure high-quality code through reviews, testing, and automation
• Drive engineering best practices like clean architecture and performance optimization
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root cause analysis
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions

What you’ll bring

• Hands-on experience with Java, J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot
• Experience building RESTful web services and integrating web services
• Proficiency in frontend technologies including Angular, Vue, and Node.js
• Solid understanding of distributed architecture and scalable systems
• Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies
• Exposure to Test Driven Development (TDD)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
