About the role
Premier Research is hiring a Manager, Clinical Data Sciences to join its Clinical Data Sciences team in Bangalore, India, working in a hybrid model. The role supports biotech, medtech, and specialty pharma clients by transforming scientific breakthroughs into new medicines, devices, and diagnostics. Day-to-day, you will serve as the primary data sciences contact on assigned studies, coordinate end-to-end data science processes from database development to lock, prepare data science plans and reports, and provide leadership, training, and performance management to Data Coordinators and trainees. You will also directly manage a team of Lead Data Scientists and support department management with resource planning, hiring, and financial goal achievement.
What you’ll do
- Serves as primary Clinical Data Sciences contact in assigned studies and ensures consistent data cleaning across team members
- Coordinates all tasks within the data science process between team members from database development to database lock
- Prepares data science plans, data entry guidelines, data science reports, and other documents required for preparing and completing databases
- Supports database development activities and coordinates database amendments with the database development team
- Provides leadership and advice to Data Coordinators and trainees on Clinical Data Science procedures, SOPs, and ICH-GCP
- Provides and/or coordinates training and mentoring of Data Coordinators and trainees
- Assesses Data Coordinator performance, executes annual appraisals, monitors career development, and performs end-of-probationary-period reviews
- Onboards, trains, and evaluates new employees to facilitate integration and timely target utilization
What you’ll bring
- 12+ years of mastery in data management experience
- At least 4-7 years of supervisory/management experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience leading studies
- In-depth knowledge of at least one clinical data management system, preferably Medidata Rave or Calyx EDC
- Familiarity with all phases of a study (pre-award, study startup/database setup, maintenance, and lock)
- Knowledge of data mining and application of data standards
- End-to-end operational management and delivery ownership
- Experience with budget management and financial awareness
