Software Architect

About the role

Silicon Labs’ embedded software team builds next‑generation Wi‑Fi ICs. The Software Architect shapes the architecture of Wi‑Fi protocol stacks, low‑level firmware, and Linux drivers, guiding implementation and ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability. The role is based in Hyderabad and requires on‑site presence.

What you’ll do

• Own software architecture and design, guiding implementations
• Debug complex system‑level issues with architectural insights
• Perform code reviews from an architectural perspective
• Collaborate with engineering managers on backlog structuring
• Provide technical input on schedules, dependencies, and integration risks
• Shape long‑term architectural vision for embedded software and Wi‑Fi stacks
• Contribute to Wi‑Fi specifications and standards
• Advocate for open‑source/Linux engagement

What you’ll bring

• 12+ years professional software development
• Embedded systems and communication stacks
• Wi‑Fi protocols or other communication stacks
• Linux kernel drivers
• C development
• System‑level thinking
• HW/SW partitioning
• Architectural design patterns

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
• Experience in an Architect role
• Strong knowledge of embedded systems
• Experience with Linux kernel architecture
• Hands‑on C development
• CI/CD pipelines
• Agile/Scrum methodologies
